Device Optimization

Tested by real people on real devices

In a multi-device world, user experience can be greatly impacted by the way devices handle the variety of functions, content and user interaction. The days of lowest common dominator web experiences and simple mobile pages have long gone.

Today the device landscape is getting more complicated and diverse with multiple variations of the same devices. What iteration of the hardware is your customer using, and have they updated their software to the latest version available?

Without using device recognition there is a danger of you serving content or functionality to a device that doesn’t have the necessary support, and the results will vary from limited functionality right through to webpages not working at all. This results in a poorer experience for customers, resulting in less engagement and fewer sales.

Device recognition on our device detection platform allows a device to be profiled against an existing set of characteristics known as parameters, from simple factors such as screen size and operating system, right through to processing power and level of JavaScript support.

Over 6000 device profiles

To date, the Netbiscuits device database contains over 6000 device profiles, each with more than 750 parameters. As an ongoing service to customers, our database is continuously  managed, tested and extended daily by an in-house team, with new profiles added every month. So clients can be sure any new mobile deployments with Netbiscuits are pre-tested on the newest handsets automatically.

These device profiles capture the combinations of device, operating system and browser, making it dramatically more valuable than a straight forward device database. Using the Netbiscuits device database future proofs a mobile marketing strategy, removing the concern about new devices and the need to conduct extensive regression tests. Supporting core development, our pre-programmed features directly link to the device database in order to operate effectively. So not only is it easy to develop market leading user experiences with Netbiscuits, but the device database also guarantees they will work across all devices today and going forward – as we keep testing new arrivals.
